WARRANTY
HI-LINE (“Hi-Line Home Furnishings, LLC”) warrants (through products’ manufacturers) all of the products we offer to be free from material and workmanship defects for a period of 1 year from the date of delivery. We do not warrant (through products’ manufacturers) against normal wear and tear, or damage due to customer accidental use or misuse. This Warranty shall not apply to any product incorrectly installed nor will it apply to products whose mechanism warning labels, or operating instructions have been altered or removed.
Variations in products made in whole or in part of natural materials, such as
leather, wood, or stone, are not considered defects. Such products will
generally vary in color or texture. The appearance may vary of natural, stained
or dyed wood surfaces as well as of painted wood or metal surfaces.
Furthermore, appearance in furniture coverings may also vary even if they are
from the same dye lot. Wood, leather, metal, or fabric products are not
suitable for outdoor use, unless expressly specified. Leather and fabric are
subject to natural wear and may discolor, fade, tear, stain, stretch, wrinkle
or shrink. Wood and metal may stain, scratch, chip, fade or darken. The
customer must exercise proper care to minimize any such damage.
Warranty claims must be presented to Hi-Line in writing with photographic
proof, so that your claim may be properly addressed. Hi-Line’s responsibility
is limited to reasonable repair of the product or to replacement if the product
cannot reasonably be repaired. Hi-Line reserves the right to deny any warranty
claim if it finds the nature of the damage to be normal wear and tear, and/or
excessive/abusive use.
To the extend allowed by Law, any implied warranties, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular use are limited to the written warranty. Hi-Line shall not be liable for loss of time, inconvenience, commercial loss, incidental or consequential damages of the client.
ORDERING POLICY
Special Orders: No Changes, No Cancellations, No Returns and No Refunds
Please make your special order choice very carefully and cautiously, as it is
impossible for HI-LINE to store and re-sell rejected, special-ordered items.
Hi-Line’s policy on Special Orders: SPECIAL ORDERS CAN NOT BE CHANGED OR
CANCELED IN WHOLE OR IN PART once authorized. There is NO REFUND on a special
order once it is ordered from the manufacturer. A “Special Order” is defined as
any merchandise that must be ordered through either a domestic or international
manufacturer. A Special Order is “Authorized” as soon as a customer places a
deposit on his/her order.
Purchase Orders (In-Stock Merchandise): No Changes, No Cancellations, No Returns
and No Refunds.
Please make your purchase choice very carefully. Any purchase for in-stock
merchandise from HI-LINE is considered a typical “Purchase Order.” In-stock
merchandise will be shipped to the customer immediately upon availability.
Therefore, Purchase orders can not be changed in whole or in part, or canceled.
All Purchase Orders are considered Final Sales.
Note: If after submitting an order, the customer feels that a mistake was made, the customer has 48 hours to make corrections to his/her order.
Customer is responsible for ALL house measurements.
All points, starting from the main entrance doorway, all turns, hallways, stairways, and interior door openings to the actual project area where furniture will be placed, must be thoroughly measured by the customer. No order can be canceled or rejected based on the fact that furniture does not fit or does not get through a door, no exceptions.
Payment and Tax
All orders will be charged a 50% deposit. The customer also authorizes HI-LINE
to charge the remaining balance due upon the merchandise arrival at Hi-Line’s
warehouse and/or as soon as the merchandize is ready for immediate shipment to
the customer. HI-LINE retains security interest in all of the goods until the
balance is paid in full. All purchase orders for in-stock merchandise will be
charged full amount. Merchandise will not be shipped to the customer unless and
until all balances are paid in full. Once payment is made in full, the customer
will become the holder of the title of the goods.
If a payment is made by personal check or online debit from checking account, the shipment cannot be made until the personal check/debit has cleared (which generally will take five to ten business days from receipt).
Since Hi-Line is registered in the state of New York, all orders delivered within NY State will be charged sales tax. Sales tax will not be charged on orders delivered outside of NY State.
Delays in Shipping
Due to the new homeland security laws, shipping on some orders may be delayed
due to increased inspection requirements. Also, manufacturers may have shipping
delays due to increase in orders, work stoppages, equipment failure, and the
very well known “August Vacation” (the European furniture industry is on
vacation for the entire month of August). As a result, all European
manufactured special orders placed between July 1st and August 31st
will have longer production time. If an order is placed within that time frame,
consider adding “August Vacation” to the lead time (approximately 4 weeks).
HI-LINE is not responsible for shipping delays on any product order.
SHIPPING/RECEIVING POLICY
Delivery information
Hi-Line offers FREE delivery on all furniture orders totaling $2,000 or more.
Only furniture orders totaling less than $2,000 will be assessed a 5% freight
surcharge fee.
All furniture is unloaded and inspected at one centralized warehouse, located in Elizabeth, NJ. It is then distributed to different freight routes to be delivered to clients nationwide. There are two types of delivery offered, depending on client’s location.
Customers residing in the states along the Eastern corridor (ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, NY, NJ, PA, VA, WV, NC, SC, GA and FL) will get their furniture in-home delivered and set-up. The way in-home delivery & set-up works is as follows: the product is delivered inside the customer’s home, unpacked and assembled (if necessary). It will also be placed according to the customer’s preference, and the packaging material removed. Note: Absolutely no wall hanging will be performed by delivery crew (due to liability issues), no exceptions.
All other customers residing outside the above mentioned states will receive their orders via curb-side delivery. The way curb-side delivery works is as follows: the freight line truck driver (1 person) will expect the customer to take the product from the back of the truck or the driveway area depending on the location of the home. For an additional charge, Hi-Line offers in-home delivery and set-up to the residents of Western and Central states. This service may not be available everywhere nationwide. The shipping company will notify the customer up to a week in advance of the day it will be arriving to deliver merchandise. Any change of appointment must be done through the shipping agent that contacts the customer. Any fees resulting from a missed appointment will be charged to the customer.
Inspection of goods
The goods are well packaged and transit damage is rare. Nevertheless, if it
does occur the customer is responsible to discover it when the goods are
unpacked and examined at the time of delivery.
Inspection of packaging for obvious damage immediately upon delivery must be
done in the presence of the delivery person. If the outside packaging is intact
the customer may sign the Bill Of Lading and allow the truck to leave. If there
is any damages to the packaging, the customer will need to open it and inspect
the item itself. Should the customer notice any damages or defects, they must
be indicated on the Bill Of Lading. All damages must be CLEARLY NOTED on the
Bill of Lading before the delivery person departs. Shipping related damages
that are not noted on the Bill of Lading cannot be filed with the shipper;
therefore HI-LINE will not cover those damages.
Many of the items consist of removable and replaceable parts. If only a part of the merchandize damaged, please consult us or use your judgment. If any hardware, such as screws, nuts, bolts, etc. is missing, let Hi-Line know immediately. Hi-Line will be able to provide additional hardware right away. If the nature of damage is minor, where a professional repair services may provide a solution, contact Hi-Line with details to obtain authorization for repairs.
Only the items that are unusable may be rejected by, having the driver CLEARLY
NOTE all damages on the delivery receipt. Rejection of goods is very rare and
is only authorized if the goods are completely un-usable and un-repairable. The
customer must contact HI-LINE to obtain such authorization.
Damage Claim Procedures
A damage claim must be filed with a freight company within 3 business days of receipt/rejection of goods. Customers must submit a copy of their Bill Of Lading/Proof Of Delivery to HI-LINE in a timely manner. Any claims submitted after 3-business days time limit will not be honored.
The customer agrees to cooperate with HI-LINE and the shipping company to resolve transit related damages. HI-LINE reserves the right to repair or replace goods depending on the nature of the damage. The customer agrees that the claim response timeframe is outside of our control. As soon as the agreed upon solution is decided by the shipping company HI-LINE will order replacement parts/items or authorize repairs to received goods at no cost to the customer. Customer agrees to waive the right to demand a refund or cancellation due to this inconvenience. HI-LINE will arrange prompt repair schedule or provide as promptly as possible part/product replacement (depending on availability/lead time), and cover all transit costs associated with the replacement process.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION POLICY
HI-LINE, LLC is incorporated in the State of New York. By purchasing
merchandise from HI-LINE, customer agrees that New York law will apply to any
dispute or claim, and any legal claim for damages and/or injunctive relief must
be filed in Richmond County, New York.
